Anastasia Micheals has more than 17 years experience working and consulting in materials science and engineering. Her areas of specialty include failure analysis of materials, materials characterization and materials processing.

In her consulting work Ms. Micheals applies her experience to answer questions about materials, relating to matters such as product failures, materials applications, and accident causation.

She has done extensive work in materials characterization, including materials analysis with scanning electron microscopy. She performs testing of solids, liquids and gases to determine a variety of characteristics, including strength, composition, and the presence or absence of defects.

She holds an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and teaches Materials Engineering at San Jose State University, where she also manages the Scanning Electron Microscopy Laboratory of the university's  Materials Characterization and Metrology Center; in this role she both directs and performs materials research and characterization.

Ms. Micheals' experience supports investigations in a number of areas, including:

  • Failure Analysis
  • Weld Evaluation
  • Corrosion
  • Slip, Trip, and Fall
  • Accident Reconstruction
  • Aeronautical and Aerospace
